Family history papers prepared by 277 students of Dr. David Culbert of the Louisiana State University History Department as assignments in his History 56 classes between 1972 and 1983. The family histories pertain mainly to the lives of the writers' grandparents and include information about American social and economic conditions in the first half of the twentieth century, especially in Louisiana. Copies of photographs and pertinent family documents are also included. The family photograph album of Marva Kador (#174) is available on microfilm.
